Of course! Many of the travelers come alone to our expeditions and many times it’s the best option. We promise you that you will make a lot of friends and enjoy some incredible days with us! 🙂

Depending on the itinerary, you can come on a trip with us if you’re Open Water or a maybe the route requests a minimum of experience.

For the North and South routes in the Red Sea, the Open Water and being comfortable in the water is enough (although we recommend having the advanced or the deep specialty so as not to miss any dives!).

For the Central route in the Red Sea, Maldives or routes that involve diving in currents, a minimum experience of 25/30 dives and the Advanced Open Water title are required.

Depending on the itinerary, we do between 3 and 4 dives daily. Generally, there will be no diving on the first or last day on board. Remember to make sure you leave a minimum of 24 hours between your last dive and the departure of your flight.

You’ll be able to take the PADI Advanced Open Water on all boats, plus a variety of specialty courses to enhance your diving experience; Nitrox, Deep Diver, etc.

Courses are subject to availability and itinerary.  You can check all the prices here.

Generally, the first dive (check dive) is done on the second day of the trip and the last one is done the day before disembarking to leave 24 hours of margin before your flight and so that all participants can do the 18-21 dives.

You can either bring your own equipment or rent it on board.

If you are bringing your own equipment we recommend that you include: We suggest that you bring the following:
Mask, snorkel, fins, boots, wetsuit, regulator, BCD, SMB (with a minimum of 5 meters of line to deploy during the safety stop) and a dive computer with spare batteries and a flashlight for any night dive .

You can also rent your equipment upon reservation (recommended and cheaper) or on board (an extra 14% fee applies). You can see all prices and rental options here.

Flights are not included in the travel prices, but if you need help finding a good option we will be happy to help you! 🙂

Tips recommended on liveaboards in Egypt are usually 10% of the trip price (around 100-150€) and are given in cash in an anonymous envelope at the end of the trip.

They are divided equally between the crew, guides and ground staff, in total more than 15 people working for us! In any case, it will be your decision after evaluating the treatment and services on board. Tipping individually is not permitted.

We will have at our disposal 2/3 local guides (depending on the group) with many years of experience in the Red Sea and good knowledge of all the diving spots that we will visit.

Our Longimanus Team will be on the trip with you (as long as it is a closed group) helping with whatever is needed, but not guiding.

Yes, it’s mandatory for everyone to have current diving insurance.

We recommend taking out travel+diving insurance to avoid unnecesary risks. A good option that we recommend is Chapka (agency we always contract with). Using this link you can get your insurance with a 7% discount.

No problem! We adapt the menu to all requirements and the crew on board will design a suitable menu for you. Just tell us your allergies or needs so we can have everything ready.

Although packing a suitcase is quite personal, here is a list of the essentials you will need for the trip:

  • Your diving equipment (if you don’t rent)
  • A pair of swimsuits or bikinis
  • Comfortable clothing and something warm (at night if it is windy it can be a little chilly)
  • Band-aids, compeed, Vaseline or similar for chafing if you have sensitive skin
  • Sun cream and glasses

On the boat there are towels (for showering and for diving) and we will have a lot of medicines (for seasickness, diarrhea, etc.), but if you need any specific medication, don’t forget to bring it with you!

Alcohol can be purchased on board (although a beer costs around 4,5€ on the boat). For this reason and because we know that you like cold beer, two weeks before each trip we always make a large beer purchase for those who want to save a little (packs of 1/2/3 beers daily for 2€/unit). You can also bring your own alcohol on board and buy us some shots!

The visa must be requested by each person on the official Egyptian e-visa page (this link) and costs $25.

There are other pages that charge much more and it is not necessary at all, we always recommend doing it from the official website, ask us if you have any questions! 🙂

All boats are equipped with Wi-Fi when there is a mobile signal, although it is often lost when far from land. We highly recommend that you buy a eSIM card before you travel so you have data when you arrive or simply buy a normal simcard at the airport upon arrival (they are quite cheap and work very well!).
